Take exit 40 off the M6 motorway and follow the A66 as far as the Keswick roundabout. Take the 3rd exit i.e. the A591 signed for Bothel and Carlisle. Follow this for approximately 7 miles until you pass St. John's Church. At the Bassenthwaite village crossroad, turn left down a narrow lane signed to Scarness. After 500 yards, turn left down the farm track with 2 green wheelie bins at the end. Follow this track until you see Mireside Farmhouse on the right. Turn into the farmyard and bear right.
From the north:
Take the A595 south from Carlisle. At Bothel, turn left along the A591 signed to Keswick. Continue along the A591 until Bassenthwaite village. At the Bassenthwaite village crossroad, turn left down a narrow lane signed to Scarness. After 500 yards, turn left down the farm track with 2 green wheelie bins at the end. Follow this track until you see Mireside Farmhouse on the right. Turn into the farmyard and bear right.
